On Wednesday, 1 April 2009, WM, Bro. Kevin Sanders, accompanied by four of his officers visited with Bro. Woody, and his gracious wife Mary, in his Iowa City home and awarded him the first Most Distinguished Member Award for service "above and beyond..."
As the oldest living member of Iowa City Lodge No. 4 AND the oldest living Past Grand Master, Bro. Woody was recognized with this award stating:
"Your life has proven to be of great value. You are a family man, a community leader, a man of honor, a man of integrity, a Grand Master Mason of the State of Iowa, a 33rd degree Freemason. You are the oldest living Past Grand Master of Masons in the State of Iowa as well as the oldest living member of Iowa City No. 4 Lodge. We, the members of Iowa City Lodge No. 4 proudly recognize you with "The Most Distinguished Member Award."" Signed: Kevin Sanders, Worshipful Master; Jason Wolcott, Secretary.
